Our Team’s Commitment

Our staff are carefully selected not only for their qualifications, but for their dedication to creating a warm, nurturing and inclusive environment. Together, we bring many years of combined experience and share a passion for best practice in childcare and family support.

We work closely as a team to ensure every child and family feels safe, supported and known.

Our Qualifications & Standards

• The majority of our staff hold a Level 3 qualification in childcare, with some team members qualified even further

• Staff undergo continual training to keep their skills up to date and bring fresh ideas and approaches to our setting

• Regular team meetings and supervision ensure we can respond to the individual needs of every child

• We are proud to include team members with lived experience of SEND, neurodiversity and parenting children with additional needs — bringing empathy and genuine understanding to our practice

Safeguarding & Suitability

Children’s safety and wellbeing are our top priorities:

• All staff and regular volunteers hold Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks

• All statutory training is completed and regularly renewed, including:

  • Paediatric First Aid

  • Food Hygiene

  • Safeguarding

  • Health and Safety

Where We’re Based

Lighthouse Family Centre is proudly based at Medway Community Centre in Worcester.

Our setting includes:

• Dedicated baby, toddler and preschool rooms

• A fully equipped sensory room

• On-site kitchen for nutritious, homemade meals

• A spacious community room for events and support sessions

• Outdoor areas for play, gardening and woodland adventures

We proudly welcome families from across Worcester and the surrounding areas.
